BTX Mining Guide: Setup & Profitability

Complete guide to mining BTX (btx.dev) using the BTX-MatMul algorithm — node setup, recommended GPUs, and profit tips.

BTX is a post-quantum Layer 1 blockchain (btx.dev) that uses the BTX-MatMul algorithm — a 512×512 matrix multiplication PoW (MatMul over M31) optimized for GPU mining. Mainnet launched March 19, 2026 with 90-second blocks, 21M capped supply, and native CUDA support.

Getting Started:

  1. Run a node — Download the official BTX node from btx.dev (Linux/macOS, with CUDA GPU support)
  2. Get a wallet — BTX node includes a built-in wallet; or use a compatible wallet from the BTX ecosystem
  3. Mine directly — BTX mining is built into the node software via CUDA (use --mine flag)
  4. Or use a miner — PeakMiner v1.0.15+ and SRBMiner support BTX-MatMul (see our Pools page for stratum pools)

PeakMiner example .bat file:

peakminer.exe --coin btx --pool btx-hk.lproute.com:8660 --wallet YOUR_BTX_ADDRESS --power-limit 260

Recommended GPUs for BTX:

  • Best overall: RTX 5090 / RTX 5080 — highest raw hashrate
  • Best efficiency: RTX 5060 Ti — excellent hashrate-per-watt
  • Best value: RTX 4070 Super — good balance of price and performance
